Tasty Family favourite hamburgers Recipe

Serve these tasty beef burgers with potato wedges for a complete mid-week meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1 onion, finely diced

  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1 cup flat-leaf parsley leaves, chopped

  • 1/4 cup basil leaves, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons rosemary leaves, chopped

  • 2 teaspoons ground fennel

  • 1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs

  • 220g ricotta cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 lemon, rind finely grated

  • 700g lean beef mince

  • 6 tasty cheese slices

  • 6 hamburger buns, split, toasted, buttered

  • Lettuce, sliced, to serve

  • 1 tomato, sliced, to serve

  • Roast capsicum, sliced, to serve

  • Onions, sliced, cooked, to serve

  • Oven-baked potato wedges, to serve

Method

  • Step 1

    Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes or until onion is soft.

  • Step 2

    Combine herbs, fennel, breadcrumbs, ricotta, parmesan, lemon rind, mince, onion mixture and salt and pepper in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Preheat oven to 130┬░C. Shape mince mixture into six 1cm-thick patties. Heat remaining 2 tablespoons oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook patties, 3 at a time, for 5 minutes each side.

  • Step 4

    Top each patty with cheese. Place on an oven tray in the oven to keep warm.

  • Step 5

    Spread bun bases with tomato sauce. Top with lettuce, tomato, capsicum, patties with cheese and cooked onion. Cover with bun tops. Serve with potato wedges.
