Tasteful Chai (spiced tea) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cardamom pods

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 250ml (1 cup) milk

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 teaspoons Indian tea leaves such as Darjeeling or Assam

Method

  • Step 1

    Lightly bruise the spices in a mortar and pestle.

  • Step 2

    Transfer to a pan, add 250ml (1 cup) cold water, milk and sugar.

  • Step 3

    Cook over low heat for 2 minutes. Add tea and simmer for 1 minute. Strain and serve.
