Ham, pineapple and gruyere sandwiches

  • olive oil cooking spray

  • 8 thick slices white or wholemeal bread

  • 200g shaved ham

  • 225g can pineapple pieces in syrup, drained

  • 200g gruyere cheese, cut into thin slices


  • Step 1

    Preheat a sandwich press. Spray oil over 1 side of 4 slices of bread. Place onto a flat surface, oil-side down.

  • Step 2

    Place half the ham onto bread slices. Top with pineapple pieces, cheese and remaining ham. Season. Top with remaining bread.

  • Step 3

    Spray with oil. Place sandwiches, 2 at a time, into sandwich press. Cook for 6 minutes or until golden. Serve with chips.
